As member numbers continue to grow, 2013 is proving to be a busy year for the Tennis Industry Association.

The TIA UK Forum at the All England Club on October 8 was the latest in a series of events designed to bring clubs, businesses and leading figures in the tennis industry together.

All England Club Commercial Director Mick Desmond offered an insight into one of the most powerful brands in sport, while head coach Dan Bloxham spoke about the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative and the work the club does in the community for the remaining 50 weeks of the year.

A quick recap

The TIA UK calendar kicked off in January with the TIA UK Forum at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton with ITF Executive Director Dave Miley as guest speaker.

At the AGM in June, TIA UK President Ian Peacock revealed an 8% increase in membership and declared the association was “on track” after a year of detailed review and consolidation.

In July a successful charity event with Will to Win in Hyde Park raised much-needed funds for the TIA UK nominated charity – the Dan Maskell Trust – as well as the Will to Win Foundation. The success of “Fun in the Park” has prompted plans to turn it into an annual event in the TIA calendar.

TIA events are just one a large number of benefits that our members enjoy. To find out more about how the TIA can help you please contact Gilly English (details above) or Brett Watson at brett@tiauk.org or on 0208 878 7427 .

If you are already a member then please submit your stories or information on product and service launches, people and job opportunities for consideration by October 31. Items received after this will be considered for December’s TIA UK News.
