TenLink is the moniker of Barbara Wancke, the freelance writer and tennis consultant, who used to run Tennis Interlink Ltd, a tennis consultancy business that specialised in Sport England Lottery funding and event management and was dissolved in 2010.
Barbara has been a sports administrator for over 40 years with a well-proven track record and a wealth of experience.
She set up the PR Department at Dunlop Sports Company and worked for two years with IMG before joining the ITF for ten years where, as Director of Women’s Tennis, she was responsible for the running of the Federation Cup, the ITF Futures Circuit and Council liaison with the WTA Tour.
In 1988 she was the Technical Delegate to the Olympic Games in Seoul, running both the men’s and women’s events there.
After leaving the ITF in 1991, she set up Tennis Interlink and later Celebrity Tennis Ltd, which she ran for many years as Managing Director.
A member of the TIA UK since 1999, Barbara was elected the Board and took over the association’s administration from the TSIF in July 2001, going on to become Executive Administrator and Executive Vice President until she stood down in July 2014.
In 2015 she received the TIA UK’s Special Award for services to the association.
A long-standing member of the Lawn Tennis Writers Association, Barbara was a regular contributor to Tennis Today and now is Tennis Correspondent for Tennis Threads magazine and website, as well as providing web design and tennis consultancy services.
